Well Hello there Weekend!!

I've seen this on my friend's blogs and decided it would be fun to do! Hope I can come up with Five things!

~Uno~
I've had a rather easy-peasy week...not a lot of surgeries so I've been doing a bunch of pickups and now I have a lot of machine cleaning to do this weekend! I'm hoping to knock most of it out today so that I can enjoy my weekend!

~Dos~
Speaking of the weekend, I feel like I haven't had a weekend where I have NOTHING to do in a while...so hopefully this weekend will be a leisurely one! I am going to watch and old athlete's baseball game tonight. His mom and sister will be there and I'm pretty excited to see them all! I may even hit this fun event up with some friends! I LOVE perusing antiques and art...but I can't buy anything, b/c I have NO room in my apartment! :) I also need to do some spring cleaning b/c of said limited space issues!

~Tres~
Every year when I get my tax info back I immediately do them! I haven't even come close to having time to do them this year! I need to work on them this weekend!! Starting a new job makes it a little tricky b/c I have several new deductions so I'm hoping I can easily do it. I use Tax Act and it works pretty well for me!

~Cuatro~
This one is random, but happening at the moment... my Yorkie, Canton has become such a snuggle-bug. He's currently in my lap, chin on computer. He's always been my snuggler, but geez he's constantly in my lap these days...which I'm okay with. Love some puppy snuggles! Jackie on the other hand, would rather have a blanket all to herself!

~Cinco~
I've recently splurged and decided to take the Lululemon plunge... I had a Visa gift card and decided to use it to make my first purchase...ummm, while I LOVE my capris I got and the sports bra and top, I'm not sure I can justify spending that much of my own money on them! I'm a Nike junkie and love all their stuff. But my LuLu stuff is pretty sweet! I'll just watch for the sale items! :)

Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend! If the weather is going to be nice, get out and enjoy it and enjoy the people around you!

Working out hard, or hardly working out?

Well, I wish I could say that I've been working out hard...but I've been hardly working out. HOWEVER, I have been going to the gym more than I had been! I joined 24 HR on December 09 and I've been a whooping SIX times since then...yeah I've been basically supporting them by my monthly dues...you know a donation some may say!

I have since found two classes I love! Pound and Pilates Reformer. The reformer class is FO FREE! Say what?! I've never been to a gym where the reformer classes are free, so you can find me every Saturday morning in that class! And then Pound...I'm a horrible dancer and have no rhythm to speak of, but I LOVE this class! It's on Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays. I can't go Tuesdays because that's my busy busy day at work, so I try to go the other two days. Here's the description of Pound from their website :

Pound is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and isometric poses. Burn calories, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music! Through continual upper body motion using lightly weighted drumsticks, called Ripstix™, you'll turn into a calorie-torching drummer. Rock, rap, pop and old school music fuse to create the Poundtrack series.

It is SO.FUN! And extremely hard and boy are you sore after! It's a mix of pilates, yoga, cardio and abs. It's awesome!!

I also belong to Revolt Now Fitness. I had seen it on a couple other blogs last year and decided that since I was moving to a smaller place and prob wouldn't get a gym membership right away I'd join! It's $50/yr and you get a meal plan and workouts. I have been seriously slacking on this...mainly because my small apartment has no room to do the workouts. So I have to go to the gym to do them...and I like to go early so that I'm not dealing with a million people watching me {I know that more than likely they're not watching me, but still}. And seeing as I've been digging this whole sleeping thing, getting up early to hit the gym isn't on my list of things I want to do. But I need to get over it and start going at 6am. Maybe even 5:30 and then I could come home and shower and grab a power nap if need be! :)

Not living near my parents{and their pool}, I need to get my butt to the gym and eat healthier because I'm going to have to be amongst people to get some sun and in the past I could be in the comfort of my parent's backyard with fencing to shield the neighbor's from going blind haha!

I've seen this on Facebook lately and crack up every time!

Are y'all gearing up for summer by working out/eating healthy? I pin a bunch of great recipes/workouts on Pinterest so maybe I should go check them back out!

Lately!

Hello there! Hope y'all had a wonderful weekend! We had GORGEOUS weather on Friday and Saturday...Sunday, whole 'nother story! It was 80 on Friday and Saturday and on Sunday it iced/sleeted/snowed. I'm not even kidding...I know it sounds like a joke but I would never joke about something like this! It's miserable! I barely got above freezing today!
Saturday I got to see one of my former athletes pitch against UTA (University of Texas-Arlington) and he did fab and his team won! I love love love seeing my kids succeed! It seriously makes my heart happy and reminds me why I was an Athletic Trainer for 8 years!! Sunday, I skipped church, skipped my workout class I've been going to, more on that later this week, and went to the grocery store before the weather took a turn for the worse and then hung out the rest of the day!
My friend and I have been sewing scarves and her nine-year old son was so intrigued yesterday so we put him to work! #childlabor He really enjoyed it and we're going to get him some Super Man fabric so we can teach him to make a pillow case! Hey! Boys can learn how to be domestic, nothing wrong with that! And this particular boy is just the sweetest soul there ever was! He's ALL boy, loves playing baseball, riding his bike, and getting dirty! But he's got a soft side too, loves giving hugs, cuddling on the couch and just being freaking sweet! So I had to capture him sewing and he was perfectly fine with my taking a picture/video/more pictures and posting them on Instagram! What you can't see is how much he was concentrating{his little tongue was out and everything}, he was so wanting to do it correctly! The fact that the sewing machine has a pedal like a car also scored cool points.

And this little one is VERY OVER this weather! His sweater hangs on hook by the door and he was nudging it yesterday so I guess he was cold and needed his sweater! I can't handle his cuteness sometimes!

Are y'all just as ready as I and everyone else in America for summer?! Or really just some steady warm weather would be nice!
Hope y'all had a wonderful Monday!

Oh my!!

I'm going to start out by saying this...I love my job, I love that I moved back to Fort Worth and I love this new journey. But goodness I'm exhausted! Now trust me, I'm so very thankful that I'm not sitting in the cold|rain watching soccer, baseball and softball, but I wish I had a little more time in each day! {Don't we all though?} This new job was supposed to afford me more ME time and more time to get out and do things. I definitely have more time to do things, but not a lot. I find myself pushing back things that need to be done {take my bridesmaid dress to the cleaners, mail some packages, get my car cleaned, laundry...the list can go on} and being lazy and just wanting to lay on the couch when I get home. I know I've only been here since mid-November so obviously there's still some adjusting that needs to be done, but also some better time management.

It seems like I'm crazy busy almost every single day, which is good...means more money for me! :) But I also selfishly want some time to do things I need to|want to do. I hate coming home at 5 or 6 pm and having to run errands that late. I know it doesn't seem late, but it's late when you've been driving and lugging equipment all day. So I need to learn to schedule my work around my day better. That's my goal for March, plan better and not feel guilty when I need to do something for my personal life.

Alright, sorry for the Debbie Downer moment, if anyone has an ideas how I can better manage my time I'd be open to it! :)

I took the pups to get groomed today and go to Doggie Daycamp. They sometimes are not the nicest of puppies when it comes to other dogs, however, they played in a pack of dogs today and didn't eat any of them! I'm highly impressed and they are pooped and seem to have had a good time! I think I may take them there once a week on my really busy day so I don't feel bad leaving them for the whole day, plus it's good to socialize them!

Gah! I've been trying to post pictures on here...but they won't come up even after I download them. I'll figure it out and load y'all with them!

Oh and y'all don't forget to Enter the giveaway on Julie's Blog!

Monday... and a weekend recap!

I don't know about you, but I'm not a huge fan of Mondays {really haven't met anyone who is!}! However, I'm feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the week ahead! This past weekend I was busy, but satisfying and restful! The church I've become a member at had a youth retreat, Battle of the Sexes, and while I couldn't be a leader {having no family up here to take care of the pups does have a down side}, so I volunteered where I could. I headed registration and then helped hand out lunch the next day. I plan on beginning to work with the youth soon! I really miss interacting with kids and I'm pretty sure this is exactly what God had in mind when I first visited the church and I'm excited to start!

I've been going to church services on Saturdays lately, and I rather enjoy it! I love having my Sundays free to sleep in, get chores done and just really do whatever I please! The service this weekend was phenomenal!  We're doing a series on Sex, Love and Marriage and I really think if more young people heard the truth and knew God's words on said topics, maybe, just maybe they would feel better about themselves! Also, it was crazy to realize just how much the media and the world twists how sex, love and marriage should be viewed!

We've had some seriously fabulous weather...fear not, it's supposed to be cold again this week! I'm so over the cold...I HATE it! HATE it! And I don't hate many things! Since the weather has been so nice, I decided to stop by Lowe's and grab some tomatoes and bell pepper plants!  I'm hoping they'll survive and I'll have veggies by May!

When I started my blog, I participated in a Five for 5 on Mondays. We set weekly goals and updated them every Monday! I think since then, it hasn't been kept up, but I figured I'd start out my weeks by making goals again!

I really need to plan my time during the week better! I need to start getting up and hitting the gym in the mornings and utilizing my time wisely. I also need to start getting in The Word daily, preferably in the morning to start my day off right! So I really only have two goals this week, workout and dig into my Bible.

This post is quite all over the place, and I'm sorry for that! I promise to also plan my posts accordingly and I'm trying to remember how to put pictures from my phone in my posts as well! Hope y'all all have a fabulous Monday!!

SamanthaDiane

Getting Involved...

Okay, I've been here in Fort Worth since mid-November and I feel like I'm finally "settled". That being said, I need to get connected up here! I want to re-connect with old friends {which I have been doing quite successfully}, make new ones and just get out more!
I've found an awesome church and am going to get involved with the youth group and become a leader. I'll be honest, I miss the teens...didn't think I would, but I do. I miss encouraging them, interacting with them and just being around them. I feel like it's all I know. So while I plan to get involved with the youth, I also want to get involved with people my own age! That being said, I'm not big on girl friends...I'm just way too simple to deal with their stupid pettiness etc... but I need to find some quality girls that are not in my normal group of friends. I'd also like to maybe go on some dates {shocking right? I'm 32 and would like to maybe find someone to share my life with} with some interesting boys{I use the term boy to describe males in general...I don't want to date boys}and maybe even with some not so interesting ones!!
So I know everyone makes resolutions|goals in January but I'm going to start them now... mid-February. And I'm not going to say they're resolutions, I'm going to say this is the year of me! I want to find myself {I hear people say that, but what does that actually mean?}? I think to find myself I need to root myself deeply in God and His word. Start each day reading His wisdom and lessons and in communion with my Heavenly Father. I also need to start each day with exercise...some form. I'm happier when I workout, not to mention healthier! I need to go out more during the week, catch dinner with a friend or see a movie. Or maybe go a date! Fort Worth has SO much to offer and I cannot wait for Spring|Summer to get here because this city is spectacular during that time! So many outdoor activities, concerts, etc...
I also want to get more involved in my Alumni activities, definitely need to support my Alma Mater better.

Do any of y'all have any suggestions on how to get more connected|involved? I've thought about Junior League...but let's be honest, I'm not sure I'm THAT girl, haha!

I'm not here today...

Hello my lovelies! I'm guest posting over of my friend Julie's Blog today and having a sweet Rodan+Fields giveway!! Go check it out!! Julie is a pretty cool girl that I went to TCU with and worked in the Athletic Training Room with! She's a runner {I'm so jelly that she runs and seems to enjoy it!}, a military girlfriend and just an all around cool person! Oh and she's recently taken up sewing so that makes her extra cool in my eyes! So head on over to her page and enter to win the sweet little deal I got going on over there!
I'm making it my mission to post regularly from now one, so no worries...there will be new posts weekly and I'm hoping to have my own guest posters soon! :)

Hey it's Thursday so enjoy it...we only have two more days until the weekend! Wahooo!!!
